Be seen, heard,
and respected.

The Mountain Center promotes wellness, personal discovery, and social change through innovative learning experiences in nature, community, and cultural environments.

— what we do

We meet people where they are.

At the heart of The Mountain Center is a team of clinicians, educators and advocates dedicated to the well-being of New Mexico's youth, adults and communities. We work to provide a straightforward path to wellness — and we know that path looks different for everyone.

For some, that means a high ropes course or time in the backcountry. For others, it means finding safety and dignity through counseling, community-based programs, and mobile outreach.

Learn About Our Approach

— OUR approach

Grounded in culture, land, and care.

New Mexico's land and culture are central to how we work. People heal through connection with others, with themselves, and with the natural world — whether we're outdoors or meeting you in your own neighborhood.

Harm Reduction

Meeting people and communities where they're at, without judgment or barriers.

Culturally Grounded

We honor diverse identities and lived experiences throughout all of our programs.

Nature as Healer

The land offers perspective, presence, and the conditions for resilience to emerge.

Trauma-Informed

Safety and trust are the foundation of everything we do, in every setting.
